Improve your showjumping with an intensive workshop at Birtle Riding Centre

This is how it works...
3 x 2 hour sessions on Saturday lunchtime with a full set of showjumps, covering the following:

• preparation for the show/correct tack, etc
• the warm-up
• walking the course
• jumping the course
• cooling down/preparation for the jump-off
• homework – what should be done at home
• jumping will be videoed

Each week you will jump a course of jumps twice and be marked out of 10 for each jump. After the first round, any problems will be discussed and rectified before your 2nd round. The round will also be marked on style and rider’s position. Cost £60.00 per person total

Birtle Riding Centre is now running a series of courses for potential horse-owners. These courses are aimed at adults and children who are looking to purchase their first horse or pony, but who might not have the experience or training to correctly handle and care for their horse.

The course content will include how to choose the right horse, how to fit all tack/rugs correctly, routine daily care, general ailments, feeding, turning out, poisonous plants, and also farrier, dentist and vet issues.

"Too many people take the decision to purchase a horse or pony with very little thought as to how much attention and care they need, to the eventual detriment of the animal."

"There is always something to do, and a little coaching before the big day of buying your horse may help prepare would-be purchasers for what they are letting themselves in for."
